Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam criticizes DMK government and police for denying protest permission in Coimbatore

Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam condemns the DMK government and police for denying permission to protest against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. He accuses the government of suppressing freedom of speech in Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam held a press conference at the Koniamman Temple in Coimbatore Town Hall, criticizing the police for denying permission to protest against the ongoing violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh.

Speaking to reporters, Kadeswara Subramaniam said, "Hindus in Bangladesh are facing severe attacks. The minority Hindu population there is struggling without protection for their lives and property. Thousands of people are waiting at the country's borders. Scenes of women and children being forcibly attacked have sparked global outrage."

He continued, "We had announced a state-wide protest today on behalf of Hindu Munnani, demanding an immediate end to the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh in the name of religion and urging the central government to intervene immediately to protect Bangladeshi Hindus. However, the Tamil Nadu police have denied permission for this protest."

Kadeswara Subramaniam strongly condemned the Tamil Nadu government, accusing it of "strangling the voice of democracy." He stated, "In Tamil Nadu, Hindus have reached a situation where they don't even have the right to cry out when faced with a problem. We will definitely approach the court to obtain permission for the protest."

The Hindu Munnani leader also questioned the justification of banning Independence Day processions in Tamil Nadu. He accused the DMK government of behaving like it was during the Emergency period and argued that suppressing freedom of speech is unacceptable in a democratic country.
