Thousands Attend Thirukalyanam Festival at Bhoomi Lakshmi Andal Nachiyar Temple Near Udumalpet

The Bhoomi Lakshmi Andal Nachiyar Temple near Udumalpet celebrated Aadi Pooram with a grand Thirukalyanam festival. Thousands of devotees participated in the three-day event featuring special pujas, homams, and cultural programs.


Tirupur: The renowned Bhoomi Lakshmi Andal Nachiyar Temple in Kurinjeri, near Udumalpet in Tirupur district, celebrated the Aadi Pooram festival with grand festivities from August 4 to 6. The highlight of the event was the Thirukalyanam (divine wedding) of Sri Rangamannar and Sri Andal Nachiyar, which drew thousands of devotees.

The celebrations began on August 4 with special morning rituals including Go Puja, Sudarshana Homam, and Dhanvantri, Mahalakshmi, and Kubera Homams. On August 5 and 6, a special Laksarchana was performed using Tulsi and Rose Chemmangi flowers for world peace and the well-being of all.



The main event, the Thirukalyanam of Sri Rangamannar and Sri Andal Nachiyar, was conducted with great pomp and fervor. Following the ceremony, a Maha Deeparadhana was performed, and the deities, adorned in special decorations, blessed the devotees. The festivities also included garland exchange ceremonies and cultural performances by children.



All attendees of the Thirukalyanam were given yellow threads, bangles, and prasadam. In a separate sanctum, Andal Nachiyar received a special abhishekam with 16 different items including milk, curd, and turmeric. The deity was also adorned with over a thousand bangles as part of a special worship ritual.



The Bhoomi Lakshmi Andal Nachiyar Temple administration meticulously organized the event, ensuring a spiritually enriching experience for all devotees who participated in this grand celebration.
