Breastfeeding Awareness Rally Held in Udumalpet to Mark World Breastfeeding Week

A breastfeeding awareness rally was organized in Udumalpet, Tirupur district, to commemorate World Breastfeeding Week. The event saw participation from various organizations and aimed to promote the importance of breastfeeding.


Tirupur: In a collaborative effort to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding, various organizations including the Udumalpet Integrated Child Development Scheme and Ennam Pol Vaazhkai Foundation conducted a rally in Udumalpet, Tirupur district, to mark World Breastfeeding Week.



The awareness rally began at the Udumalpet Thali Road junction and concluded at the Railway Junction path, passing through the Central Bus Stand. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 Anganwadi workers, more than 40 students, and several volunteers, all coming together to highlight the significance of breastfeeding.

Dr. Jayakumar, Principal of a private college, inaugurated the rally by waving a flag. Mrs. Deepa, the Integrated Child Development Scheme Officer, presided over the event. The rally also saw the presence of notable figures including Santhiyapriya, the Block Coordinator of the Child Development Scheme, Nelson, the founder of Ennam Pol Vaazhkai organization, and numerous Anganwadi workers.



The initiative aimed to educate the public about the benefits of breastfeeding and its crucial role in infant health and development. By organizing such events, the participating organizations hope to foster a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers and promote better understanding of its importance in the community.
