Commissioner Inspects Water Hyacinth Removal at Ukkadam Periyakulam

Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS conducted an inspection of the water hyacinth removal work at Ukkadam Periyakulam on Tuesday, August 1. The Commissioner visited the site to assess the progress of the operation and instructed the officials to accelerate the removal process.

Water hyacinth, an invasive aquatic plant, has spread across the Ukkadam Periyakulam, necessitating its removal to maintain the water body's health and functionality. The Commissioner's visit underscores the importance of this task for the city's water management.



Following the inspection at Ukkadam Periyakulam, Commissioner Prabhakaran proceeded to inspect a sewage pipeline repair work near Ramanathapuram Signal on Trichy Road, which falls under Ward 64 of the Central Zone. He reviewed the ongoing repairs and directed the officials to complete the work promptly to minimize inconvenience to the public.



The Commissioner was accompanied by City Chief Engineer Anbazhagan, Town Planning Officer Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, and other Corporation officials during these inspections. These site visits reflect the Corporation's commitment to addressing infrastructure issues and maintaining the city's water bodies efficiently.
