In an encroachment drive carried out by the Corporation, around 1.69 acres of reserve site worth Rs. 19.73 crores has been retrieved from all five zones.
The team of Officials under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan have ear-marked several reserve sites in the city which has been encroached and misused by the public for their personal use. Today this team, inspected the following places and retrieved 1.69 acres of land.
East Zone:- Ward No: 66 - Tulips Apartment -Udayampalayam Road, Sowripalayam - 29.34 cents of reserve site retrieved worth Rs. 5.8 crore.
West Zone :- Ward No: 19 - Kuruchi Nagar - 26 cents reterived worth Rs. 2.5 crore and Ward 19: Kuruchi Link Road, 25 cents of land worth Rs. 2.5 crore.
North Zone:- Ward No:3 - Sathya Nagar, Thudiyalur - 30 cents land worth Rs. 2.5 crore
South Zone:- Ward No:94 - Sri Varsha Garden -Part II - 12 cents of land worth Rs. 1.4 crore.
Central Zone :- Ward No:74 - Deccan Apartment, Church Road (OSR I to V ) - retrieved 46.26 cents worth Rs. 5.03 crore.
