For the first time, Class X and XII marks sheets will have student's name printed in Tamil too



For the first time, the marks sheet of Class X and Class XII public examinations this year will have the student’s name printed in Tamil also in addition to English.

Hitherto, the marks sheets of Class X and Class XII public examinations had the names of students printed only in English. 

S Kannappan, Director of School Education, disclosed this information and said that, 'The valuation of Class X exam papers had been completed while the valuation of Class XII exam papers will be completed on April 24 and the results of which would be declared as already announced.

Likewise, steps were now being taken to distribute the marks sheets to students by May. For the first time, the marks sheets of Class X and Class XII public exams will have the student’s name printed both in English and Tamil'  

Mr Kannappan also claimed that steps were now being taken to distribute books, note-books and uniform by the time the schools were reopened in June.

He also warned that stern action would be taken against the government and the private schools if they were found conducting special classes during summer vacation.

Under the Right to Education scheme, at least 2,000 persons have so far applied through online. People also can directly apply to the schools seeking admission under RTE. However, the students would be admitted based on merit, Mr Kannappan said.
