Coimbatore City Police Announces Reels Competition for Public Awareness

Coimbatore City Police launches a Reels competition on July 30 to raise public awareness on cybercrime, drug abuse, road safety, and crimes against women and children. Prizes worth Rs. 1 lakh to be awarded.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police has announced a Reels video competition on July 30 to raise public awareness on various social issues. The competition is open to all members of the public and aims to engage citizens in creating short videos on important topics.

Participants can choose to create 45-second Reels videos on one or more of the following themes: cybercrime prevention, drug abuse eradication, road traffic awareness, and prevention of crimes against women and children. Contestants are required to tag the official Instagram account of Coimbatore City Police (@Coimbatore_City_Police) in their submissions by August 13, 2024.

The winners will be announced on August 17, 2024. All participants will receive certificates from the police department. The total prize money of Rs. 1 lakh will be distributed among the winners selected under each category.

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner V. Balakrishnan stated, "The objective of this Reels competition is to create awareness among the public on the aforementioned themes. Anyone can create and send us Reels. We are offering substantial prize money for this competition. Beyond the prizes, we plan to share quality Reels videos on our social media platforms, especially those highlighting drug abuse prevention and the importance of wearing helmets."

He added, "When your videos are viewed by a large audience, it will bring you pride and help the police department raise awareness on these crucial issues."
