Tense situation prevailed at the Martin Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital as students of this institutions staged a sit-in-protest at the College alleging the management for using abusing language to the women students of this college and ill-treating the male students.
Close to 300 students are pursuing various courses at Martin Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital in Kaundampalayam. It is reported that a few days back, the students boycotted the classes alleging the management for harassing the students. Following the agitation, the management declared indefinite closure of the college. However, the students opposed this move of the institution and sought explanation from the management and urged to take action on the concerned people who abused the students. As the management did not respond to their appeal, the students continued to hold protests in the college.
Today morning, scuffle broke out between the management and the students as the students were restricted to enter the gates and stage protests inside the campus. At last, the students showed their agitation by staging a sit-in-protest in front of the college gate.
The students have apprised that they would intensify their protest, if the management fails to initiate action on the concerned people involved in student harassment.
