Residents Demand Swift Completion of Road Works in Vellalore Area, Coimbatore

Vellalore residents urge authorities to expedite ongoing gas and water pipeline works, citing severe inconvenience due to damaged roads during monsoon season.

Coimbatore: Residents of Vellalore area in Coimbatore are calling for the swift completion of various road works that have been ongoing for several months. The area, home to thousands of people, has been experiencing significant disruptions due to excavation works for gas and water pipeline connections.

The road works, which began a few months ago, have left the streets in a state of disrepair, with numerous potholes and uneven surfaces. The situation has worsened with the onset of the monsoon season, as continuous rainfall has turned the damaged roads into muddy, slushy tracks.

This deteriorating condition of the roads has made travel extremely difficult for local residents. Vehicle drivers face considerable challenges navigating these roads, while students heading to schools and colleges, as well as office-goers, struggle daily with their commute. Pedestrians are also facing hardships due to the excessive mud and slush.

Residents argue that these pipeline works for gas and water connections should have been completed during the summer months. The continuation of these works during the rainy season has exacerbated the damage to the roads, leaving them in a deplorable state.

Those traveling on these roads find their clothes and vehicles covered in mud and dirt. The situation has become so severe that even walking on these roads has become nearly impossible.

On July 25, the residents of Vellalore area put forth a demand to the authorities to expedite the completion of these works and restore the roads to a proper condition. They emphasized the urgent need for road repair to alleviate their daily struggles and improve the overall living conditions in the area.
