This morning, a press meet was convened by the Department of Pulmonology, G. Kuppusamy Memorial Hospital, Avinashi Road to brief on 'Interventional Pulmonology' an advanced treatment methodology in pulmonary medicine.
Speaking on this, Dr. Bharanidharan from Pulmonology Department said, 'Until, a few years back, 'Interventional Pulmonology' was practiced only in abroad. Hence, people from our country for undertaking advanced treatment for lung related diseases like cancer had to travel to foreign countries for treatment.
But now, we at GKNM hospitals have introduced this nonsurgical minimally invasive procedure focused on the use of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for patients with lung cancer, airway disorders, and pleural diseases. Using this procedure, lung-related diseases including cancers can be detected at an early stage and also cured at a very minimal cost.
On 21st April, a conference on 'Interventional Pulmonology will take place at our Hospitals. Eminent Pulmonologist from various parts of the country will take part in this conference'. said Dr. Bharanidharan.
