Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity Donates Sports Equipment to Government School Students in Coimbatore

The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity provided sports kits worth Rs.25,000 to 45 students of Government Higher Secondary School, Malumichampatti on July 16, 2024, for volleyball and kho-kho teams.


Coimbatore: The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity successfully concluded its community service project 'Sportiva' on July 16, 2024, at the Government Higher Secondary School in Malumichampatti.



The initiative aimed to support young athletes by providing sports equipment to students participating in under-14 and under-17 volleyball teams, as well as the under-17 kho-kho team.



The project, costing Rs.25,000, supplied complete sports kits to 45 students. This gesture reflects the club's commitment to serving the community and supporting various sectors, particularly in nurturing young sporting talent.



The event was led by Rtr. Jaiseelan, President of the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity, with support from Rtr. Ruthra, the secretary, and Rtr. PHF. Thanghapantieyaan, District Rotaract Representative. Special recognition was given to Rtr. PHF. Thanghapantieyaan and Rtr. Suryanarayanan for their significant contributions to the project.



The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Sarojini, Headmaster of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Malumichampatti, and Selvakumaraswamy, PT Master of the school. Other notable attendees included Rtr. Anbuchelvan (Joint Secretary), Rtr. Hema Sri Bhuvana (Treasurer), Rtr. Nathiya (Chair District Priority Project), Rtr. Logesh (Professional Service Director), Rtr. Neelesh (Club Service Director), and Rtr. Kalpana, a proud member of the club.



This initiative by the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity demonstrates their dedication to fostering sports at the grassroots level and empowering young athletes in government schools. By providing essential sports equipment, the club aims to encourage and support students in pursuing their sporting aspirations.
