Three arrested for selling drugs and ganja in Karumbukkadai, Coimbatore

Coimbatore: In a crackdown on drug peddling, the Coimbatore police arrested three individuals for selling narcotic pills and ganja in the Saraimedu area of Karumbukkadai on July 15. The arrests were made during a routine patrol by the Karumbukkadai police.

The police noticed suspicious activity in a vacant plot in Saraimedu and approached the individuals for questioning. During the interrogation, the suspects provided inconsistent answers, raising further suspicion. A subsequent search revealed that they were engaged in the sale of ganja and narcotic pills.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rishwan Suhail (24) from Sowkarpet in Karumbukkadai, Ashik Sherif (23) from South Ukkadam, and Mohammed Nawaz (29) from Vellalore Housing Unit. The police seized 60 narcotic pills and 150 grams of ganja from their possession.

Further investigation has revealed two more suspects connected to this drug peddling operation. The police are currently searching for Mujib Rahman (27) and Kattadurai alias Naufal, who are believed to be involved in the illegal drug trade.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Coimbatore police to curb drug-related activities in the city. The authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling in their areas.
