Police department requests private firms to make wearing helmets mandatory to its employees.

In a bid to alleviate the number of road accidents, the traffic Police department has been urging the two-wheeler drivers to wear a helmet at all times while on roads. Though an awareness has been created amongst the public, it is reported that still a lot of two-wheeler drivers pose a lethargic attitude in using helmets.

Hence, to ensure 100% helmet users, the City traffic police have urged the firms (work places) to impose the rule of wearing helmet to its employees.

The traffic police department has requested banks, shopping complexes, hospitals and IT firms to put up sign boards indicating compulsory usage of helmets to all its employees. Along with a warning that people riding 2 wheelers should be provided entry only if they are found to be wearing helmets.

Various colleges and schools in the city have already imposed the wearing of helmets. Similarly, if hospitals, private firms, and banks start implementing 100% helmet usage we could certainly minimise the road accidents in the city, assures Officials from the traffic department.  The police department urges people to cooperate with them in order to make Coimbatore a much safer place.
