Coimbatore: Arjun Sampath, the State President of Hindu Makkal Katchi, visited the Suparsvanath Temple in Coimbatore today to seek blessings from Jain monks. The temple, run by the Rajasthan Jain Shwetambar Murti Pooja Sangh, is located on R.G. Street.
Upon his arrival at the temple this morning, Sampath was warmly welcomed by the temple's President, Gulabchand Mehta. The Hindu Makkal Katchi leader then proceeded to meet Param Pujya Sadhviji Shri Sanskarnidhishreeji, who bestowed blessings upon him.
During the visit, Sampath and Sadhviji Sanskarnidhishreeji engaged in a discussion about the rich history of Jainism and Sanatan Dharma. The Sadhviji urged Sampath to intensify his efforts in promoting Indian and Tamil culture, emphasizing that it is everyone's duty to uphold and propagate Bharatiya culture, especially in South India where Western values are increasingly prevalent.
In response, Arjun Sampath shed light on the significant contributions of Samanar (Jains) to Tamil literature, highlighting the deep-rooted connection between Jainism and Tamil culture.
