Foam emerged in Washermenpet due to tunnelling carried out as part of work on the underground stretch of Chennai Metro Rail on Thursday night.
Officials of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) said that a tunnel boring machine was deployed in the area and due to loose soil, the foam which is a construction material, emerged on the road. “We carried out grouting and other repair works soon after,” said an official.
