Two Children Electrocuted in Coimbatore Due to Improperly Buried Electric Cables

In Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, two children were fatally electrocuted in Raman Vihar's residential area park. Preliminary investigations reveal cables were buried shallow at just one foot deep.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred in the Raman Vihar residential area of Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, where two children lost their lives due to electrocution while playing in the park. The incident took place along the Thudiyalur road, which is on land owned by the Air Force.

Following the tragedy, on May 25, Saravanampatti Inspector conducted an investigation at the site. It was found that electric cables, which are supposed to be buried deeper, were laid at a shallow depth of just one foot. This inadequate burial led to the electrocution of the two children, according to the initial investigation report.
