Man Arrested Near Edayarpalayam for Possessing Ganja for Sale

Coimbatore police arrested a man near Edayarpalayam for possessing and attempting to sell 1.1 kilograms of ganja as part of their campaign to eradicate drug use in the city.


Coimbatore: In a determined effort to foster a drug-free environment, Coimbatore police have heightened their crackdown on narcotics. On May 21, 2024, following a tip-off about ganja sales in the Sulur police station area, a special team conducted vehicle checks near the Pappampatti-Edayarpalayam road.

During the operation, Gopalakrishnan (21), a resident of Sulur, was found transporting ganja intended for sale. Law enforcement officers arrested him and seized 1.1 kilograms of ganja from his possession. The arrest is part of a broader police initiative to eliminate the sale and use of illegal drugs in Coimbatore.
