Farmers Demand Action as Stray Dogs Continue to Prey on Livestock in Koduvai

Farmers in Koduvai, near Kangayam, report increasing stray dog attacks on livestock, causing distress. They urge authorities for immediate intervention.

Tirupur: The rural areas of Koduvai in Tiruppur district have witnessed a distressing rise in stray dog attacks, particularly around the localities of Ellappalaiyam Pudur, Pangampalayam, and Sayiram Nagar. Over recent days, these stray dogs, showing aggressive and feral behavior, have been targeting not only livestock but also humans. The severity of the issue has escalated as the dog population increases, leading to frequent incidents in streets and farming zones.

Local farmer Muthusamy witnessed a horrific scene where a pack of stray dogs attacked and killed a calf in his garden around 1 AM last night.

The mother cow could only circle the spot, visibly distressed by the ordeal. Despite the continuous occurrences of such attacks, there has been no action taken by the local authorities to address this growing menace.

Given the gravity of the situation where even human lives are at risk, the local community and farmers have expressed their readiness to protest unless preventive measures are implemented. They have pleaded for immediate action to curb these deadly attacks by stray dogs before more lives are lost.
