Prostitution Racket Busted in Coimbatore's Rangai Gowder Street

Coimbatore police conducted a raid on a massage center disguised as a prostitution hub on Rangai Gowder Street, RS Puram on May 16, rescuing four women.


Coimbatore: A supposed massage center operating under the guise of prostitution on Rangai Gowder Street, Sukrawarpet, has been raided and busted by the RS Puram police following a tip-off received on the evening of May 16.

Assistant Commissioner Ravi Kumar led the sudden inspection along with Inspector Kasi Pandian and Sub Inspector Veerappan. During the raid, it was discovered that the establishment was engaging in illicit activities under the cover of offering massage services. Four women present at the site were rescued and sent to a women's shelter. Those rescued include Pandicherry Tamilarasi (age 22), Trichy Devi (age 23), Erode age 23), and Bhavani Vishnu Priya (age 23).

The manager of the facility, Jagadeeswaran from Salem, aged 31, was arrested. Police are currently searching for the owner, Aravind Thatchan, in connection to the operation.
