Coimbatore Court Grants Permission to Interrogate Savukku Shankar in Custody

Coimbatore Court allows police to take activist Savukku Shankar into custody for interrogation regarding a recent case handled by the Cyber Crime Police.


Coimbatore: In a recent development, the Coimbatore Magistrate's Court has granted the police permission to take activist Savukku Shankar into custody for interrogation. Savukku Shankar was arrested in Theni by the Cyber Crime Police and subsequently presented at the Coimbatore Magistrate’s Court before being detained at the central jail. Following a police petition last week, the court consented to the custody interrogation.

The crucial decision came this morning, May 13, when Savukku Shankar was brought before the Criminal Judge Court at the Integrated Court Complex under the supervision of Judge Saravanababu. Judge Saravanababu authorized one day of police custody for further interrogation. It is also noteworthy that the court has allowed Savukku Shankar's lawyer brief 15-minute meetings every three hours. The next appearance in court is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 5 PM.
