Melting of 32 Kilos of Gold Offerings Begins at Anaimalai Masani Amman Temple

In Anaimalai, the melting process of 32 kg 663 gm of gold jewelry, deposited by devotees at the Masani Amman Temple, has commenced under government orders.

Coimbatore: A significant operation has begun at the famous Anaimalai Masani Amman Temple, where 32 kilos and 663 grams of gold offerings from devotees started getting melted as per the Tamil Nadu government's directive. This temple, under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, witnessed this ceremony for the first time in a decade.

The ritual, amidst tight security, is overseen by a committee including retired Supreme Court Judge and the head of the temple's management, Murali Krishna. The process takes place at a government-owned melting facility. Following this, the molten gold will be deposited in a nationalized bank, optimizing its revenue for temple development purposes.

The state initiative aims to use the funds generated from these offerings for the renovation and development of temples which have been accumulating these precious donations over the years.
