Kanthalloor Summer Festival Kick-Starts with Traditional Tribal Dance

The Kanthalloor Summer Festival commenced near Udumalai on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, attracting tourists with traditional tribal dances and various cultural activities.


Tirupur: The quaint village of Kanthalloor, located near Udumalai on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, has become a thriving tourist destination, renowned globally and having won accolades for its tourism facilities last year. As the summer holidays begin, tourists from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry are flocking to the area.

Kanthalloor is celebrated for its rich natural attractions like sandalwood forests, Echo Rock waterfall, Kachar waterfall, Bhramaram view point, and various orchards which enhance its appeal as a daily tourism hub. Marking the start of the season, the Kanthalloor Summer Festival commenced yesterday, now in its second year.



Featuring a variety of art shows, traditional food stalls, and cultural events, the festival was inaugurated by Kerala Revenue Minister K Rajan in the presence of Devikulam MLA A Raja, and Kanthaloor Panchayat President P D Mohandas, along with several committee members, political leaders, locals, and tourists.

The traditional dances performed by the local tribal communities and the assortment of cultural events captivated the guests immensely.
