The event was organized by the Coimbatore North District Hindu Munnani to pray for rain. Uravai Balan led the ceremony, where participants recited Shivnamam and mantras collectively, seeking divine intervention for rainfall.

Offerings typical in Hindu rituals, such as betel leaves, nuts, lemons, coconuts, fruits, and flower garlands, were made to the deity, Virundeeswarar. District communications officer Jai Karthik, district coordinator Thambi Saravanan, and district representatives Padaiyappa, Selvam, Ashok, Muruganandam, and Murugan were among the many who attended.
