Train Services Revised Due to Yard Remodeling Work at Vanjipalayam

Due to yard remodeling at Vanjipalayam Yard in Salem, train services including Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express and Kerala Express will see diversions and regulations in May 2024.


Coimbatore: The Southern Railway has announced alterations in the pattern of train services due to yard remodeling works at Vanjipalayam Yard in Salem. Major changes include diversions and regulations affecting several key train routes in May 2024.

Train No. 18190 Ernakulam - Tatanagar Express is set to be diverted via Coimbatore and will face a regulation period of 60 minutes. It will depart from Ernakulam at 07.15 hrs on the 7th, 9th, and 13th of May 2024. Similarly, Train No. 22504 Dibrugarah Kanniyakumari Vivek Express, which departs from Dibrugarah at 19.55 hrs on the 10th of May, will be diverted via Irugur and Podanur, missing its usual stop at Coimbatore but adding a stop at Podanur to aid passengers, and will be regulated for an extended delay of 3 hours.

Furthermore, Train No. 12626 New Delhi Thiruvananthapuram Central Kerala Express scheduled to leave New Delhi at 20.10 hrs on the 11th of May, and Train No. 12677 KSR Bengaluru - Ernakulam Express departing at 06.10 hrs on the 13th of May, will both bypass Coimbatore. These trains will also make an additional stop at Podanur, with respective regulation times of 1 hour 40 minutes and 1 hour. This scheduling adjustment facilitates seamless execution of remodeling works while minimizing inconvenience to passengers.
