DMK Representatives Console Farmers as Cyclonic Winds Damage Banana Trees in Nayakkanpalayam and Govanur

Cyclonic winds in Nayakkanpalayam and Govanur, Coimbatore, resulted in significant damage to over a thousand banana trees. DMK officials visited the affected areas to console farmers and assure compensation.


Coimbatore: On a recent visit to the affected regions of Nayakkanpalayam and Govanur, DMK North District Secretary, Thondamuthur A. Ravi, along with party officials, inspected the extensive damage caused by powerful cyclonic winds.



The fierce weather event led to the destruction of more than a thousand banana trees, causing considerable distress among local farmers.



During the visit on May 6, A. Ravi expressed solidarity with the impacted farmers and assured them of seeking appropriate compensation from relevant authorities. Among those present were Parliament candidate Ganapathi P. Rajkumar, Executive Committee Member D.P. Subramanian, District Deputy Secretary Ashokbabu Arukutty, Union Secretary S. Karthik, Govanur Ravi, Sandhurujegavi, and Thirumoorthy, showcasing strong support to the agricultural community in distress.
