Over 100 students from IOGKO & KENKO Martial Arts Academy, Coimbatore, excelled in the UGKF All India GOJURYU Karate Championship in Mumbai, securing 18 medals including five golds.

Coimbatore:

In a remarkable display of skill and discipline, over 100 students from the IOGKO & KENKO Martial Arts Academy in Coimbatore have been making waves in the martial arts community. Recently, 16 of these students achieved success at the state-level karate competition held in Coimbatore last month, qualifying them for further challenges on the national stage.

Participating in the UGKF All India GOJURYU Karate Championship held in Mumbai's Andheri city, the team faced more than 500 contestants from across the country. The Coimbatore warriors managed to stand out by claiming a total of 18 medals—five golds, nine silvers, and four bronzes. This impressive haul not only highlighted their talent but also placed them prominently on the national martial arts map.

Upon their victorious return to Coimbatore on May 3, the athletes, along with their coaches Pramos and Vijayan, were warmly welcomed at the railway station. The celebration marked not just their homecoming but also their selection for the upcoming AGKF Asian GOJU RYU Championship to be held in Pune next month, setting the stage for an even bigger showdown at the Asian level.
