Coimbatore: A serious incident occurred at an inactive private potato chips manufacturing plant in Chenniveerampalayam near Karamadai, which has been non-operational for the past eight years. Recently, efforts to reinitiate chip production led to an unforeseen ammonia gas leak from a stored cylinder on April 29, spreading across the vicinity.
