Siruthuli Initiates Water Conservation Drive in Coimbatore's Educational Institutions

Siruthuli held a collaborative meeting with 28 educational institutions on April 26, 2024, in Coimbatore, focusing on water conservation under the "ThuliThuliyaiSiruthuliyai" project at Noyyal Life Centre.


Coimbatore: On April 26, 2024, Siruthuli, a pioneering environmental organization, brought together representatives from 28 prestigious educational institutions in Coimbatore to catalyze a significant water conservation initiative. Held at the Noyyal Life Centre, the summit focused on embedding sustainable water management practices across campuses under the banner of "ThuliThuliyaiSiruthuliyai" project.




This strategic gathering enabled discussions on various pioneering measures for enhancing water conservation in educational settings. The detailed dialogue included the implementation of sewage water treatment facilities, establishing lush green spaces, and deploying rainwater harvesting systems to best utilize sporadic rainfall. Additional strategies discussed encompassed conducting comprehensive water audits to ensure optimal use of resources and introducing robust measures to curtain water wastage on campuses.






Sujani Balu from the Steering Committee and Saravanan Chandrasekar, Apex Member of Siruthuli, highlighted the crucial role educational institutions play in fostering environmental stewardship among students. They emphasized the necessity for holistic approaches to address water-related challenges comprehensively.






Participating institutes included prominent names such as SNR Group of Institutions, PSG iTech, and PSG College of Technology among others, showcasing the community-wide commitment to fortifying conservation efforts. The "ThuliThuliyaiSiruthuliyai" project aims not only at conservation but also at making water management an integral part of the curriculum, thereby instilling a consciousness about sustainability from a young age.
