AICTE Alerts on Fake News About Free Laptop Scheme

AICTE has issued a warning against fake news circulating on social media about a non-existent Pradhanmantri Free Laptop Scheme. The authority urges verification through official channels.


Coimbatore: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently addressed a growing concern about the spread of fake news through various social media platforms and websites. The false information pertains to a supposed Pradhanmantri Free Laptop Scheme which does not exist and is not associated with AICTE. The competent authority at AICTE has expressed serious concerns over this misinformation.

To combat the spread of these falsehoods, AICTE has instructed all affiliated institutions and students to disregard such misleading information and to always verify facts through the AICTE's official website at https://www.aicte-india.org/ or by contacting their helpline at 011-29581000 and 29581050.

Furthermore, AICTE has called upon everyone to report instances of this fake news immediately to the council. Prompt reporting will enable AICTE to take the necessary disciplinary actions against the spreaders of these false claims. This proactive approach demonstrates AICTE's commitment to maintaining the authenticity and reliability of information related to its initiatives and schemes.
