A woman in Coimbatore, near Karamadai, tearfully demands action against Mahendrakumar, husband of a BJP prominent leader, for allegedly breaking into her home and stealing items, in addition to employing goons to intimidate her family. The incident is linked to a disputed land deal, escalating to theft and harassment despite ongoing legal proceedings.
Coimbatore: In a distressing appeal, Gauri, residing near Karamadai in Coimbatore, has sought intervention from the district authorities against Mahendrakumar, identified as the husband of a BJP prominent. She accuses him of forcibly entering her residence, stealing household items, and using henchmen for intimidation over a contested land deal.
According to Gauri, her husband, Shanmugasundaram, involved in real estate, had entered into a lease agreement with Mahendrakumar for a 6.48-acre plot in Mettupalayam last year. Despite fulfilling financial commitments and constructing a house on the said land, Mahendrakumar has allegedly delayed the lease process, resorting to threats and coercive tactics for eviction.
The conflict took a severe turn when, in their absence, Mahendrakumar, along with his group, allegedly broke into their property, looting two houses and transporting the stolen goods in lorries. Although police intervention led to the recovery of some items, many valuables remain unreturned. Gauri highlighted the continuous intimidation, leveraging Mahendrakumar's wife's BJP affiliation to exert additional pressure.
Amidst the ongoing legal battle over the land rights, Gauri reports that hired thugs roam their locality with metal rods, breaking into their locked house, consuming alcohol, and leaving debris. She has made an emotional plea for justice, urging the authorities to take substantial action against Mahendrakumar for ensuring their safety and upholding their rights to the property.
