The incident took place around 8:00 PM on February 22, when a transformer suddenly caught fire and exploded with a loud noise, sending flames up to 50 feet high into the air.
Following the alert, a team led by Annur Fire Station Officer Balachandran, along with firefighters and electricity board workers, battled the blaze for about 45 minutes. They managed to extinguish the fire by spraying foam, preventing it from spreading further.
