Man Assaulted and Robbed of Cellphone Near Coimbatore TASMAC Shop

Anil Kumar, a 45-year-old man from Alappuzha, Kerala, was attacked and robbed of his cellphone near a TASMAC shop in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on February 18th. He has been admitted to the government hospital for treatment.


Coimbatore: Anil Kumar, aged 45, from Pavukkara in Alappuzha district, Kerala, came to Coimbatore seeking work on February 18th. While visiting a TASMAC liquor shop near Peelamedu Railway Bridge to have a drink, he was confronted and assaulted by an unidentified assailant. The attacker forcibly brought Kumar to the ground and snatched his cellphone before fleeing the scene.

Kumar sustained injuries during the assault and was subsequently admitted to a government hospital for medical treatment. Following the incident, he filed a complaint at the Peelamedu police station. Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case and are currently searching for the perpetrator. This incident has raised concerns about public safety in the vicinity of liquor shops in the area.
