Painter Stabbed with Bottle in Dispute at Coimbatore TASMAC Outlet

A dispute at a TASMAC outlet in Uppilipalayam, Coimbatore, escalates into violence, resulting in painter Gautam being hospitalized after being attacked with a bottle by Surya, following a longstanding feud.

Coimbatore: Gautam, a 21-year-old painter from Kamala Mill Compound, Singanallur, became the victim of a violent altercation on February 18, when he was attacked with a bottle and sustained injuries to his head. The incident occurred following a dispute with Surya, also known as Minnal Surya, an 18-year-old from Singanallur Neelikonampalayam, at a TASMAC outlet in Uppilipalayam a few months ago.

The Singanallur Police registered a case based on the initial altercation, which apparently sowed the seeds of a bitter rivalry between the two. Yesterday, after Gautam had refueled his bike at a petrol bank on Trichy Road, Surya and his friend Moni confronted him, reigniting their feud. The argument quickly escalated, culminating in Surya and Moni attacking Gautam with a bottle and fleeing the scene.

Gautam was rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical treatment due to the injuries he suffered during the attack. In response to this incident, the Singanallur Police have registered a case against Surya and Moni (22) from Singanallur Neelikonampalayam, and are conducting an investigation.

This episode highlights the ongoing issues of violence and lawlessness surrounding TASMAC outlets in the region.
