The Rotary Club of Coimbatore today donated playground equipment to the Corporation Elementary School, RS Puram. The Corporation Elementary school has 146 students between class 1-V, a full-fledged playground with swings, merry-go-rounds, slides had been the long term wish of these children.
In this regard, today play equipment worth Rs. 40,000 was donated by Mr.Agarwal, Member, Rotary Club of Coimbatore. Today an event was conducted to inaugurate the playground. Gurpreet Singh, President Rotary Club of Coimbatore, Secretary, Ramkumar, other executives committee members of the club along with Gomathi, Headmistress, staff and students of the School were present at the event.
Speaking on this, Ramkumar, Secretary of the Club stated that, 'Sometime back, Rotary Club of Coimbatore honoured Gomathi, the Headmistress of this school with 'Best Teacher Award'. During the event, the Headmistress shared to us that their school lacks a proper playground. So, we decided to sponsor playground equipment like swings, slides, merry-go-round to the school. A sum of Rs. 40,000 has been spent on sponsoring the play equipment. We feel gratified to see the children enjoy the playground'
