Key Coimbatore Corridors See Spike in High-Speed Four-Wheeler Traffic

Following the recent report that Coimbatore district ranks number 1 in accident fatalities, a recent traffic report highlights a surge in high-speed four-wheelers. Kuniyamuthur-Palakad stretch saw the highest numbers of such vehicles, followed by Anna Silai-Lakshmi Mills and Ganapathy-Saravanampatti routes.

Coimbatore: Traffic analysis on 12th January 2024 has revealed a significant number of four-wheelers traveling at speeds above 80 km/h across several key corridors in Coimbatore.

Notably, the Kuniyamuthur-Palakad stretch saw the highest numbers of such vehicles, followed by Anna Silai-Lakshmi Mills and Ganapathy-Saravanampatti routes.

Recently Coimbatore District topped the TN accident fatalities list and that caused a lot of concern among public and social activists.

This uptick in high-speed traffic calls for an evaluation of current road safety measures and potential traffic calming strategies to ensure commuter safety and reduce the risk of accidents in these areas.
