The day is finally here for XPDians, Meenakshi Arvind from Coimbatore, Mookambika Rathinam from Pollachi, and Priya Rajpal from Mumbai, as these dynamic women are all set to throttle their SUV from towards London.

A short while ago, this mission 'XPD 2470' was flagged off from SNR Grounds, Coimbatore.
District Collector, TN Hariharan, Minister for Rural development, SP Velumani, PR Krishnakumar, Chairman, Avinashilingam University, President of Rotary Club of Coimbatore, Brijesh, K. Ramasamy, Chairman, Roots Group of Companies, Vijayakumar, Managing Trustee of Ramakrishna and SNR groups and other eminent didnataries officially flagged off the mission from the SNR grounds.

Close to thousand people comprising of well wishers and family of the three women, students, public and members from sponsoring group of companies bid adieu to these women for a safe and successful journey.

The audience for the event formed a human chain and gave athe XPDians a warm farewell. A convoy from SNR grounds along with a bustling team of bikers accompanied the XPD 2470 team. They will accompany the team for 24 kms, probably up to Perundurai.


These women are going to travel via 24 countries in 70 days to commemorate 70 years of Indian Independence and also to spread the ‘Rotary India Literacy Mission’ that aims to achieve total literacy and quality education to all.
The team is scheduled to reach London on 5th of June, 2017.

Undoubtedly, diverse challenges awaits these spirited women along their way like safety, climate, traffic rules, food bunny and narrow roads and all above home sickness. Acclimatising to these changes is not at all a easy task.
As they leave from Coimbatore, the team hurl towards Puducherry, the first stop point in their 70 days long journey. Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi will flag off the rally at Puducherry.
