Coimbatore United Round Table Hosts Corporate Cricket Tournament for Improving Govt School Infrastructure

The United Cup 2024, a corporate cricket tournament, successfully raised Rs. 6 lakh for improving infrastructure at a government school in NGGO Colony, Thudiyalur, showcasing community involvement and corporate support for educational development.


Coimbatore: In an impressive display of community involvement and corporate responsibility, the Coimbatore United Round Table (CURT) #186 organized the 14th edition of the United Cup 2024.

This annual corporate cricket tournament, held at the KCT Ground, was aimed at gathering funds to enhance the infrastructure of government schools in the region. Dharani Pumps & Motors led the sponsorship, with Kumar Murugesan of the Dharani Group inaugurating the event. The presence of Karthik Manikandan, Chairman of CURT #186, and Nihal, the Convener of the United Cup, added prestige to the inauguration ceremony.

Sixteen corporate teams took to the field in this tournament, showcasing not only their cricketing talents but also their commitment to supporting the local community. The final match saw Stalwart Securities competing against Dharani Pumps, with Stalwart Securities emerging victorious and taking home the coveted United Cup. Beyond the competitive spirit and the excitement of cricket, the event served as a significant networking platform for the participating corporates and their employees.

Thanks to the collective efforts of all participants and sponsors, the tournament succeeded in raising a substantial amount of Rs. 6 lakh. These funds are earmarked for a noble cause - enhancing the physical infrastructure of the Government Primary School located in NGGO Colony, Thudiyalur. This initiative by CURT #186 exemplifies the potential of sports to bring together various sectors of society for a common goal, underlining the importance of corporate contributions to educational development.
