Rumors Dismissed About Collapse of Flyover Near Periyanayakkanpalayam Bus Stand

Authorities clarify that iron pillars placed under the overbridge near Periyanayakkanpalayam Bus Stand are for load testing, dismissing rumors of the bridge's collapse.

Coimbatore: Recent concerns were raised among the public about the stability of an overbridge near the Periyanayakkanpalayam Bus Stand. Rumors circulated that the overbridge had collapsed, creating a wave of panic.

However, on January 28, the security officer of the overbridge clarified the situation. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had placed iron pillars under the overbridge as part of a load test, which is a standard procedure to ensure the bridge's safety and durability.

This clarification comes in the wake of misconceptions among locals who observed the iron pillars and assumed the worst. The officer assured the public that the overbridge is secure and the placement of the pillars is purely for testing purposes, aiming to maintain and verify the structural integrity of the bridge.
