Mayor and Commissioner Inspect Semmozhi Poonga Project in Coimbatore

Coimbatore Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Municipal Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabakaran inspected the ongoing Semmozhi Poonga project in Gandhipuram, valued at Rs. 132.21 crore.


Coimbatore: In a move highlighting Coimbatore's commitment to enhancing its green spaces, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Municipal Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabakaran conducted an inspection of the Semmozhi Poonga project in the Gandhipuram area on January 23. The project, with a budget of Rs. 132.21 crore, is an ambitious initiative to create a new urban green space in the city.

During their visit, the Mayor and Commissioner reviewed the progress of the project, ensuring its alignment with the planned objectives. Accompanied by Council Member Vidya Ramanathan and other municipal officials, they assessed various aspects of the project, including its design, execution, and the potential impact on the local community.

The Semmozhi Poonga project is a significant step in Coimbatore's efforts to promote environmental sustainability and provide residents with recreational green spaces. It reflects the city's dedication to urban development while preserving and enhancing natural habitats.
