Adiyogi Ratham Brings Mahashivratri Spirit to Madurai

The Adiyogi Ratham, part of the Mahashivaratri celebrations, reaches Madurai, offering blessings to devotees across the city.

Madurai: In preparation for the Mahashivaratri festival, the Adiyogi Ratham, which began its journey from Coimbatore, has now arrived in Madurai. The chariot, part of a grand tradition, will traverse various parts of the city until January 26th.

Mahashivaratri, celebrated grandly at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, witnesses the annual Adiyogi Ratha Yatra organized by Then Kailaya Bakthi Peravai. The initiative aims to invite devotees to join the Mahashivaratri celebrations. This year, the Yatra commenced on January 5th with four distinct Adiyogi Rathams setting off from Coimbatore.

The Adiyogi Ratham journeyed through several towns before reaching Madurai on the night of January 21st. Its route includes Thiruparankundram, Arappalayam, Tirumangalam, Koodal Nagar, Alanganallur, Azhagar Kovil, Mattuthavani, B.B. Kulam, Masi Road, and Teppakulam, encompassing various areas till January 26th.

This Ratha Yatra presents a unique opportunity for those unable to visit the Adiyogi in Coimbatore to receive blessings right in their hometowns. Post-Madurai, the Ratham will continue its journey towards Virudhunagar, Srivilliputhur, Rajapalayam, and Tirunelveli.

The four chariots, which departed from Coimbatore, will travel in different directions across Tamil Nadu, converging back at the Isha Yoga Center on Mahashivaratri. Covering a remarkable distance of about 35,000 km, these chariots are spreading the spirit of Mahashivaratri throughout the state. This year's Mahashivaratri festival in Madurai will also witness substantial public participation, celebrating this auspicious occasion.
