Tough times ahead for the City Traffic Police as the summer has almost begun. Amidst the piercing heat of the sun, the Traffic Police have to stand on the road all day through to regularise the traffic.
In a bid to ensure their comfort and guard traffic police from direct sun rays, the City Traffic Police Department have decided to provide them with Sola Hats (is a lightweight cloth-covered helmet made of pith material) and Goggles.
At an event organised this morning at the Mettupalayam Road, near Chinthamani, City Commissioner A. Amalraj distributed these safety measures to the traffic police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) S. Saravanan and other officials from the traffic and police department were present during the event.
Along with these, wheel clamps were also given to the traffic police to lock down vehicles who use non-parking zones for parking. As a gesture of care, lemon juice was provided to all the traffic police.
