Sasikumar Murder Case: Suspect arrested by CBCID sent to judicial custody.

Sasikumar, a Hindu Munani functionary was gruesomely murdered on 22nd September, 2016 in Subramanipalayam by some unknown persons. Since then, the case is being handled by the CBCID police. Though several suspects were probed, till date no particular person was named as 'accused' in this case.

In this regard, a couple of days back the CBCID Police arrested a person named Abu Tahir in Ukkadam. He was taken in custody by the CBCID police for investigation. This sudden arrest, made Abu Tahir's parents file a case in the Court seeking to disclose the whereabouts of their son. Hundreds of members of the Popular Front Party also extended their support to Abu Tahir's parents and demanded the CBCID police to reveal the reason behind the arrest and his present state.

Magistrate Velusamy of the District Combined Court inquired the petition filed by Abu Tahir's parents and ordered the CBCID police to produce him in the Court today. Responding to the Magistrate's order, Abu Tahir was today presented in the District Criminal Court in the presence of Magistrate Madurasekaran.

The Justice ordered 15 days judicial custody till April 5th. Hence Abu Tahir was remanded and sent to the Coimbatore Central prison. However, arrest of Abu Tahir has created a stir, as the police were struggling to nab the murderers for the past six months.
