Female Wild Elephant Found Dead Near Sirumugai, Coimbatore

A five-year-old female wild elephant was found dead near a farm adjoining the dense forests of Sirumugai, sparking an investigation by the Forest Department.

In a distressing incident near Sirumugai, a village on the outskirts of Coimbatore, a young female wild elephant, estimated to be around five years old, was found dead. The elephant was discovered today, January 12, near agricultural land abutting the thick forest areas that include Koothamandi and Moolaiyur villages.




Upon receiving information from local farmers, officials from the Sirumugai Forest Department arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of death. These villages are known for their proximity to dense forest regions, which are often frequented by wildlife, including elephants. The death of the elephant has prompted concerns regarding the safety and well-being of wildlife in the area, with the Forest Department actively looking into the matter to determine the circumstances of the unfortunate event.
