It was definitely a day to cherish for the students of Panchayat Union Primary School, Alankadavu a tribal hamlet in Anamalai Pollachi, as their long term wish to visit the City of Coimbatore was fulfilled today.
Sub Collector(Training) Priyanka shares that she along with her team recently visited the School in Alankadavu as a part of field visit.
'I was surprised and shocked to learn when these students expressed their wish to visit Coimbatore and that they have never visited a city before. The students also shared their excitement to witness the functionality of a police station, real-time'. said Sub-Collector, Priyanka.
Sub Collector Priyanka discussed the Childrens' wish with City Commissioner A.Amalraj and discussed on the feasibility of arranging a trip for these kids to visit Coimbatore.

As a part of the joint initiative, transport was arranged for the students to visit Coimbatore today. This morning, the children of the little hamlet arrived at their dream city, Coimbatore.
Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) S. Saravanan shared to us that "These kids are visiting a City for the very first time in their life. A tour was arranged by the police department to make the kids visit RS Puram Police Station, Police Control Room, Dog Squad, and Children's Traffic Park. The kids interacted with the Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj, who presented them with surprise goodies.

During their visit to the Childrens' traffic park, an informative presentation session on traffic rules and the need to abide them were demonstrated to the students. In the evening, the students will visit the GD Naidu Car Museum and Gass Forest Museum'.
M.Vijayalakshmi, Headmistress of Panchayat Union Primary School, Alankadavu, Anamalai shared that, 'Right from the moment they boarded the bus, the students were super thrilled to visit Coimbatore. It has been the longtime wish of these students to witness the real-time functionality of a police station'.
Vijayalakshmi also extended her heartfelt thanks to the Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj, Sub-Collector Priyanka and all officials of the police department for not only fulfilling the student's wish but also for exhibiting utmost patience and care in educating the students.
'Such initiatives will not only be an eye-opener session for these students but will be a lifetime memory for them, Headmistress, Vijayalakshmi said.
