Tribute Procession and Memorial Service for Late DMDK Leader Vijayakanth in Udumalai, Tirupur

In Udumalai, Tirupur district, a memorial procession and tribute were held in honor of the late DMDK leader and former actor guild president, Vijayakanth. The event included garlanding his portrait and a procession through key locations in the district.


A solemn procession and memorial service were organized in Udumalai, Tirupur district, to pay homage to the late Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader, Vijayakanth, who was also a former president of the actor's guild. The event was led by the Tiruppur South District Secretary Aaruchamy.



DMDK party members and supporters paid their respects by shaving their heads and showering flowers on Vijayakanth's portrait.



The procession started from the DMDK's head office in Tiruppur South and passed through Rajakali Amman Temple, the old bus station, and the bypass road, concluding at the new bus station.



Prominent attendees included party leaders such as Lawyer Panneerselvam, Deputy Secretary Kandasamy, Chandrakanti, City Secretary Ramachandran, City Chairman Rajendran, Treasurer Yusuf, Deputy Secretary Ibrahim Thajudeen, and Sureshkumar, the Union Chairman of Udumalai. Representatives from DMK, AIADMK, BJP, Congress, Tamil Nadu Congress, MDMK, Naam Tamilar Party, and various other political and community organizations also participated, totaling over 100 attendees.
