Ayudha Pooja for Milestone Highway: Workers celebrate in Coimbatore

The highway department workers celebrated Ayudha Poojai by adorning milestones on the road near Vedapatti.

Coimbatore: Today, the occasion of Ayudha Pooja, a prominent festival celebrated across Tamil Nadu, was marked by special reverence and enthusiasm. People from various walks of life, including vehicle owners, those who rely on machines for their livelihoods, and even students with their study materials, paid homage to the tools of their trade as a gesture of gratitude to Goddess Saraswati.

In a unique and heartwarming celebration, the workers of the Highways Department celebrated Ayudha Pooja by adorning construction equipment and milestone with banana saplings and worshipped them. The offerings were then presented to Lord Ganesh as part of the ritual.

This practice symbolizes the belief that by paying respect to the tools and instruments they use, they are also honoring Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and wisdom.
