Empowering Minds: Karpagam Nursing College’s Mental Health Awareness Rally

Karpagam Nursing College’s rally, led by esteemed guests, championed mental health awareness, uniting over 170 participants to combat stigma and create a compassionate community, fostering understanding for mental health challenges.


Coimbatore: Karpagam Nursing College’s Department of Mental Health Nursing, in collaboration with the YRC & NSS unit, orchestrated a vibrant mental health awareness rally on World Mental Health Day.

The primary objective was to disseminate knowledge about mental health issues, combat societal stigma, and foster a compassionate and empathetic community for those grappling with mental health challenges.

Under the esteemed guidance of Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chairman, Managing Trustee, K. Murugaiah, CEO of Karpagam Education Institutions, and Prof. Sudha, Principal of Karpagam Nursing College, the event featured prominent figures like Dhanalakshmi, Block Development Officer of Madukkarai, Coimbatore, and D. Palaniammal, President of Malumichampatti Panchayat in the Madukkarai block, Coimbatore, as chief guests.



The rally, which commenced at the Malumichampatti Panchayat office, traversed major streets, and culminated at Malumichampatti signal, was inaugurated with the hoisting of a green flag. Noteworthy personalities like M.R.R. Prakash, Vice Chairman, Mr. Masilamani, Union Counsellor, ward counsellors, Athipandiyan, Public Relation Officer, and Dharmaraj, Director of Extension Programme from Karpagam Institutions, as well as Verasamy, NSS Officer, actively participated in this noble initiative.

Addressing the gathered crowd, Athipandiyan, the Public Relation Officer of Karpagam Institutions, shared profound insights about mental health awareness and extended gratitude to the esteemed chief guests. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from over 170 students and faculty members, drawing significant attention from the public and creating a powerful impact on the community.
