Corruption alleged in Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Service Society (TUCASS)

In the council meeting held at the Cooperative Agricultural Service Institution, Coimbatore, there was a commotion when some members got into an argument claiming that there was corruption in the cooperative society.


Coimbatore: The members got into an argument saying that there has been corruption in TUCASS and Secretary Sivakumar is responsible for it.

Thudiyalur Co-operative Agriculture Service Society (TUCASS) at Thudiyalur, Coimbatore is the 2nd largest Co-operative Agriculture Organization in India. From here, products including agricultural fertilizers are being sold to various states including Tamil Nadu.



In this situation, a special general meeting was held in the company premises today. It was presided over by Sivakumar, Secretary and Convener. As per the order of Madras High Court for Co-operative Societies Elections 2023, this meeting was held to approve the final membership list in the organization to include Aadhaar number and family card number in the membership list of TUCASS, delete the names of deceased members, prepare according to the rules of Co-operative Societies.



Some of the members who participated in the general meeting argued that corruption had taken place in Ducasse and Secretary Sivakumar was responsible for it. They also argued with Secretary Sivakumar who said that a resolution was passed in the last meeting to raise the salary of the temporary workers in Dugas and the salary has not been increased till date.

This caused a commotion in the meeting hall for a while. Speaking after this, Secretary Sivakumar said that no wrongdoing has taken place in Dugas Company, Dugas Company is operating in profit, consultations are being held regarding raising the salary of temporary workers, and after that approval will be sent to the higher authorities.

However, the meeting was held with intense discussion. At the end everyone was served lunch. More than 500 members attended this meeting.
