Coimbatore School Empowers Students with Life-Saving Skills in Fire Safety Awareness Program

Coimbatore schools collaborate in a comprehensive awareness program, teaching students essential fire safety procedures, first aid techniques, and rescue operations.


Coimbatore: In a collaborative effort to enhance student safety, an insightful awareness program was conducted at the Narasimmanayakanpalayam Govt High School campus in Coimbatore. The event, organized jointly by Vidya Vikasini Matriculation High School and Thambu High School, was part of the Country Welfare Project Camp.

The highlight of the program was a practical demonstration led by Fire Station Officer Karthikesan and his team from the Periyanayakanpalayam fire department. The session focused on educating students about the essential procedures to be followed in the event of a fire emergency.

During the session, the firemen provided hands-on training, demonstrating how to rescue an unconscious person effectively. They also elucidated the proper rescue operations to be undertaken in case of an accident, emphasizing the significance of quick and precise actions during critical situations.

Additionally, the fire department experts shared crucial insights on first aid techniques, equipping students with the knowledge to provide immediate assistance during emergencies. The participants learned about the safe methods to extinguish fires, ensuring that they are well-prepared to handle fire-related incidents responsibly.

This initiative not only imparted valuable life-saving skills to the students but also fostered a sense of preparedness and confidence within the school community, ensuring a safer environment for everyone involved.
