Tirupur: A horrifying incident unfolded at Jayarathanam Exports Company, a knitwear manufacturing firm located in the North Garden area near Tirupur Parapalayam, when an ionizing steam boiler exploded, leaving several workers injured. The company, owned by Pradeep Chetty from Mangalore, specializes in manufacturing and exporting knitwear to foreign countries, employing over 20 workers.

The unfortunate event occurred during the morning shift when the workers, including Manikandan and Kannadasan, responsible for the ionization section, were carrying out their routine tasks. As part of their daily work, they activated the ionization boiler to process the garments. Unexpectedly, the boiler malfunctioned, leading to a sudden and powerful explosion.

Tragically, Kannadasan and Babu Naren, a laborer from a northern state, suffered severe injuries, particularly on the right side of Kumar's forehead. Manikandan, although injured, managed to escape with minor wounds. Two bystanders also sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Swift action was taken by the fellow workers, who promptly rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, the Tirupur Central Police Department has initiated an investigation into the accident.

The authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the explosion and ensure the safety protocols in the factory are thoroughly examined. Further updates on the investigation will be provided as soon as available.
